The People Behind Tilehouse Retreats
Meet The Owners
Tilehouse Retreats is a family-run business, created and looked after by us, Nadine and Olly.
We live locally and are closely involved in the day-to-day running of the estate, from welcoming guests and preparing the farmhouse to developing new experiences and finding ways to make each stay that little bit more memorable.
For us, Tilehouse Retreats is about more than providing somewhere beautiful to stay. We want our guests to feel the same sense of peace and connection that we experience here ourselves, from a slow morning with a coffee in the garden, an afternoon around the pool, a walk through the countryside or an evening gathered around the table with family and friends.
We are constantly dreaming up new ideas for the estate, from wellness retreats and yoga to seasonal dining, private events and countryside experiences. Our aim is to create a place where people can come together, switch off from everyday life and make memories that stay with them long after they've gone home.
From family estate to countryside retreat
Tilehouse Retreats began with a simple idea: to share a very special place with people looking for time to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the countryside.
Set within the beautiful Tilehouse Estate in Buckinghamshire, the land has been part of our family story for generations. For many years, the estate was primarily home to residential properties, farmland and local tenants. But as a family, we began to see its potential in a different way, not just as somewhere we were lucky enough to call home, but as somewhere we could share with others.
We wanted to create somewhere that felt different from a traditional holiday let. A place where the setting was just as important as the accommodation; where guests could enjoy beautiful countryside, thoughtful touches and the freedom to simply relax and spend time together.
And so, Tilehouse Retreats was born.
Our first property, Fox & Hounds Farmhouse, was the beginning of that vision. We lovingly transformed the farmhouse into a comfortable and characterful countryside escape, combining the charm of a traditional farmhouse with the little luxuries that make a stay feel special. Today, guests can enjoy the farmhouse, gardens, heated swimming pool, hot tub and surrounding countryside, with more experiences and spaces continuing to evolve across the estate.
What started as an idea to share one special farmhouse has grown into something much bigger.
Tilehouse Retreats is evolving into a collection of countryside stays, wellness experiences, gatherings and retreats — all rooted in the same belief that life feels better when we make time to pause.
We feel incredibly lucky to be able to share this corner of Buckinghamshire with our guests, and we look forward to welcoming you to Tilehouse Retreats.
